Project

Clusters composed of a few to several hundred atoms or molecules exhibit unique physical properties and functionalities, and are therefore expected to find applications in catalysis, electronic devices, and magnetic materials. In this project, we focus on modified interfaces originating from nanoscale alloy clusters and develop data science-driven methodologies to optimize cluster size and composition, as well as to elucidate catalytic reaction mechanisms. Furthermore, by demonstrating the effectiveness of these approaches through functional validation, we aim to establish a systematic scientific framework for metal cluster-modified interfaces.

Desired joint research

Development of nanoscale alloy cluster catalysts.
Data science–driven optimization of the size, composition, and structure of nanoalloy clusters.

【Collaboration Image】
Development of data science–driven methodologies for optimizing cluster size and composition and for understanding catalytic mechanisms at modified interfaces based on nanoscale alloy clusters.

Collaboration track record

We have conducted research and development on nano-functional surfaces and nano-catalysts in collaboration with industrial companies (e.g., Toyota Boshoku Corporation and Ayabo Corporation).
